Back from a really fun birthday dinner at the Smokehouse. Had three pieces of the garlic cheese bread, a shrimp cocktail, and the wedge salad with thousand island dressing, all great. Some creme brûlée for dessert.

There are times when I wish this here site had a "like" button.

So do I.

We used to have the Karma button.  Maybe that can be used without the negative karma option.

That wasn't a nice option.

George, either black or dark grey should be pretty with the blue exterior.

Thanks, Jane.  I did not want a black car, but black cloth on the seats didn't look bad on the car I drove yesterday.

Nice.  Maybe once you have the car you will be very happy with the black.

I'll check on Ye Olde Karma button.

Using it more as a wish for good karma would be a nicer use of it.

I'll check on Ye Olde Karma button.

If I remember, that gives the Karma points to people and not individual posts.

That was the problem with it.

TOD:

Birthday cake or pie? Or both?

I have been eating leftover birthday cake ;)

What kind of cake is "leftover"?  I have never heard of this.

The mess in the tarp -- it's the stuff that fell inside while they were removing the old shingles and damaged wood. It's up in the tarp that is stapled to the ceiling. There is no mess in the house. The drywall guys will take care of it when the ceiling is repaired. Hopefully soon!

Good.

When the roofers got started, they discovered that they could make the repairs without having to move the AC unit off the roof. So they didn't need the crane or the AC people at all. The repair took only two hours.

That's great but I thought a new AC was being installed since the other one was rained on.

Spent a lovely evening at the Pearl Brewery tonight, which was gorgeously decorated. Stories to come.

Congrats to DR George on his not-quite-here-yet new car!

Vibes all goes well and it's worth the wait.

Thanks, Jeanne...and ditto! ;D

I think I will...and I can get just about any kind of seat cover if I don't like the gray ones that I have.

AND the seats were pretty comfortable, so I really like that part. :)
