I've always liked Amanda McBroom.  And I really like her CD, "Heartbeats," even though I haven't listened to it in quite a few years.

Topic of the Day:

On Christmas Eve, the family goes to my mom's house and we open gifts.  This year, we're really only getting my mom stuff.  The rest of us can (and do) pretty much get whatever we want, so it'll be a lot easier.  I'm getting my mom a gift card/certificate to a local Chinese restaurant that she really likes. :)

Christmas Day, we go to my sister's house and just eat and play cards or Scrabble.

New Year's Eve hasn't been decided yet.  We each may stay home.

New Year's Day will probably be back at my mom's for food and games.

When a brother
Leaves his sister
For another.
Sister weeps.
Tears that trickle.
Tears that blister—
'Tis but mickle
Sister reaps!

This has been a terrible morning. The new tea cart fell apart after I put too much pressure on the handle. Two spilled dishes of dried cat food now litter the floor. The computer is acting up - I need a new one and cannto afford it.

I have no plans for today, absolutely none, and that applies to the days up to January 2. It's going to be a rather pathetic Christmas since I have no money, and the less activity I do, the less money I will spend. I can't say I am very happy with my life at the moment.

DR singdaw, that photo you posted last night is my worst nightmare. Every day I see a cat I would love to add to my menagerie, but I remember that I can barely carry three dishes of cat food without the tea cart, cartons of litter cost money and the more cats, the more drequent purchases, and my bed is already too full with three cats and me.

I saw George Ball in a production of Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well . . . in either Cincinnati or Philadelphia. I don't think I saw him at the Village Gate. I wish I still had those programs.

I'm hoping Jen will come down and help me reassemble that damned cart. Besudes the usual kitty cleanup, I need to vacuum all the spilled kibble.

I had a very busy Zoom day yesterday...two chats that went from 1 to 5:15 p.m.   Lots of discussion about film music, with some deviations about COVID-19/Omicron, and movies, including the 4K version of "The Red Shoes" (which I have yet to see).

Today is the 20th of December, and the countdown to Christmas has begun.  For me, that means that places I am used to frequenting for lunch or dinner will not only be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, but will be closed all the days in between.   Yes, that's the plan for this year, everyone shutting down for a nice long holiday week.

Ah, well.  Thank goodness I can cook.

The Golden Gate Men's Chorus has posted its 2021 holiday concert on YouTube. The final piece is my arrangement of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Family is coming down for the holidays  providing the border remains open. Some of them I haven’t seen in person close to two years.

Lovely notes.

Super vibes for DR ELMORE.  The Venus retrograde is not as severe as a Mercury retrograde - but the past can rear its ugly head and make us deal with things best forgotten....until December 31.

I have no plans for the coming week except MORE estate stuff.....someone did something I asked her not to do....so there you are.

I asked my sister NOT to send my aunt the appraisal list.  They finally called her on the phone yesterday and were telling her about the few things they wanted.....but she sent the appraisal so now they have a shopping list and price list and we haven't heard from them since....I am sure they are checking things off like mad...

My sister is leaving Saturday for a visit with her daughter in Maryland so she wants to get everyone - ALL 24 heirs - through the house before then.  But it ain't gonna happen.  And I can't say anything that she doesn't say NO to....or know a better way.

So I'm not going to talk anymore.  She knows so much she can do it her way......but it ain't gonna get done this week, thank you very much.

The usual kitty cleanup is finished but the new mess remains all over the floor around me,. In five minutes I can drag out the vacuum and clean up the remaining mess. Then I'll make the bed.

I've vacuumed the apartment and cleaned up the mess. The trouble with kibble is that even though you thing you've got it all vacuumed up, you haven't.
