It was pleasant walking in clear weather today. I am sure the rain will return soon. We were happy to see neighbors walking since we hadn't seen them in awhile. We stopped and had a longish visit.

Darling Daughter has come and gone. We stayed in, had a grand time reminiscing, looking at photographs, watching some of those driving videos, laughing, and she had some spaghetti and tuna pasta salad. She brought me two loafs - one cherry, one pumpkin, a fun mat with a walk of fame star on it with my name, some cookies, some caramels (she makes the loafs and other stuff herself), and two lottery scratchers. The first was a no-go, the second I get a free ticket.

Mom had another fall today. Thankfully, it was minor.

My sister Annaliese and her husband made it to Louisville. While there, they were able to get her a cane with four feet on the bottom. A lot of the folks at the theater where I usher use those. They seem to be good.

Mom is also not drinking enough fluids, which is affecting her mental state. She's fuzzy when she doesn't drink, more lucid when she does.

Hopefully this is why she is falling and she will make an effort to drink more. I once read we get less thirsty as we get older. Sometimes I have something a little bit salty to make me thirsty.

DR John G., confusion is a sign of a bladder infection in older people.

I don't understand that, but medical folks tell me that's one of the first things they check for in older people.
