And now that the demonstration is over, I will be able to watch an honest to gosh DVD all to myself tonight! It will be APOLLO 13, I believe.

News Item:

Israeli police are looking for a man named Joseph, wanted for looting in the port city of Haifa. The suspect is described as the son of a an ex-nun from Barcelona and a German father. He was a former flutist and worked occasionally as a farmer.

In short, he is "A Haifa-lootin', flutin' Teuton, son-of-a-nun from Barcelona, part-time plowboy Joe."

Way down upon the Mississippi, two tugboat captains who had been friends for years, would always cry "Aye!" and blow their whistles whenever they passed each other.

A new crewman asked his boat's mate, "What did they do that for?"

The mate looked surprised and replied, "You mean that you've never heard of...an aye for an aye and a toot for a toot?"

It is SO strange not going to the theater tonight. Weird to be sitting at this computer not thinking about lines or the drive to the theater or the pre-set or anything.

This is just for you -  DR WFO

Sitting Bull had 3 wives who were always quarreling about who should be number one. One was pretty, one was clever and one was very strong.

Finally, tired of their squabbles, he told his medicine man to resolve the issue.

The medicine man took the wives to his teepee where he had gathered pelts and hides from all over the world.  He told each wife to choose a hide and sit on it in front of the sacred campfire.  The clever wife
chose a pelt of thick white fur, the strong wife chose a hide of orange and black stripes and the pretty wife chose a hide of rubbery grey leather.  The medicine man then pointed to the pretty wife and said,

"Behold chief, your number one wife."

The chief was pleased, but the other two wives demanded an explanation.

The medicine man said, "Even the ancient ones knew that the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides."

Posting on location from Vinnie's.

We forgot to take photographs at breakfast.  We were too busy wolfing down our pancakes.

No word yet, but that's not surprising. They often don't tell the cast so as not to upset those who might get nervous if they knew they were being recorded. I may not know until after the fact.

Well, since you  begged.......

Many years ago, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans had a problem with a mountain lion. This lion had cost Roy and Dale a number of head of cattle, but what really got Roy's attention was one night the big cat crept onto the front porch of their house and mangled Roy's brand new cowboy boots, which he had left outside overnight. That was the final straw. Roy saddled up Trigger, called for his faithful dog Bullet and rode off to find the mountain lion.
He found the lion, shot it and tied the carcass across Trigger's back for the ride home. As he rode up to the house, Dale pointed to the lion's body and said:

"Pardon me Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"

I know I can't make the Sunday Portland gathering, but still looking at the possibility of the Monday.  Would be wonderful to meet Messrs. Kaufman, Kimmel, Barnum, and Dougherty (any others I'm forgetting?).

So... I'm gonna go ahead and see the show tonight with my friend, Silvio.  It will actually be nice seeing this cast.  And, apparently, some bits got restaged since the last time I saw it, so...  It'll be be new to me!

;)

DR Jose - this sounds, for you, kind of like when I go to the library and check out books!  I hope you enjoy the show as much as we did back in April.

Just saw that myself.  Wonderful actress, whose finest hour, for me, was as Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker.

One of my favorite chase sequences is from a not-too-well known film called Roadgames, starring Stacey Keech and Jamie Lee Curtis.  Set in Australia, the big chase sequence works in reverse, as circumstances force the killer and the pursuer to move ever slower through the city, rather than faster.

My favorite would be SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER.....

............ Oh, you said chase sequence.
