I have a question for the theater-goers here.

I have tickets to the tour of The Band's Visit this afternoon. I have a vacation planned next week. Should I risk going into a theater? Is the show good enough to risk our trip?

I am vaccinated, but several vaccinated people I know have gotten covid, although it's the mild form. If we get sick we'll have to cancel our trip (unless we get the two-day covid).

I spent the money on the theater tickets two years ago, so it's not like I'd miss the ticket money or anything.

And there's this to consider: the sound at Gammage is notoriously BAD. Very often I can't understand most of what is said.  Many times I don't actually get the story until our local theater does the show a couple years later.

DR singdaw, I wonder why in the world would they target that particular vehicle. How many were there to choose from in that garage?

Well, you can't say it isn't a CONUNDRUM.

Well, it's our last day of thaw. Nathan is actually going out to hit a few golf balls today. In February. In New England.

Temperature goes back down tonight, and we could get an inch or two of snow tomorrow. If it could somehow manage to be just an inch, we could blow it right to HELL with the leaf blower. Wouldn't that be wonderful? We do get another little thaw session next week, which certainly is wonderful. I like wonderful. Don't you?

And now, the news.

Having not been driven for ten days, some of which were in our ungodly sub-freezing temperatures, Nathan's car wouldn't start this morning. (He has a work truck, and just hadn't used the personal car in that many days.) So out came the trusty BK-approved jump starter for its first job, and it performed magnificently! Hell, it feels like a member of the family now.

In the middle of the night Thursday night, hoodlums broke into our building's underground parking garage, bashed in a vehicle window, hotwired it, and took off in the stolen vehicle for a joyride. The stolen vehicle being a specially equipped van for a quadriplegic who lives in our building. The stolen vehicle was in the adjacent parking spot to where our own car is parked. They also tried to jimmy the locked doors to the stairwells leading into the building itself.

Oh, my goodness!  That's terrible! >:(

The vehicle was found, abandoned, and has already been repaired and returned. But will the vandals try again?

Very good news, but it's still a terrible thing to have happened.

I am cautiously optimistic:

The sinus issues I have been having the past 5 months seem to be going away.  And the loss of taste and smell which I have endured for at least 10 months seem to be lifting.

I am tasting things again, and last night, the smell of a cup of coffee brewing nearly knocked me for a loop.

It's not 100 percent, but it's reappearing.  I could not BE more relieved.

That's great news, Ron!

So, I fell asleep on my bed with the computer and lights on, and I just woke up not too long ago. ::) Anyway, it wasn't a bad sleep, but I would've like to have slept longer, so I'm now going to turn off my computer and lights and actually sleep IN my bed (well, still actually on my bed, but under the covers) until I naturally wake up.  I'm working concessions tonight for The Daily Show Writers Comedy Tour.  It's going to be good!

DR LAURA I love the show from listening to the CD, but I'm not sure I would risk it.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you are treasuring your past over your present right now.....you are also searching how the paths you have taken have lead you to your life today.  Enjoy the present and look for the paths ahead - your journey is just beginning in several areas.

If you're wearing a mask, Laura, of course go. Omicron is over. They're actually removing mask mandates everywhere this week. And if you go, go to the stage door and say hi to Marc Ginsberg, the star of Levi.

It's not over here, BK. We are averaging about 5,000 cases per day. I know six people who got it last week.

DR Laura - I haven't seen it, and I've only heard a few songs from it, but everyone I know who's seen it has loved it.

I wonder what's up with the sound there.

I have been listening to the beautiful score to Nine, which I find heartbreaking and haunting. I certainly love other scores more than this one, but iot really gets under my skin.

I printed out what I need for now, and I decided to do the laundry. Luckily, the laundry room was empty. Sadly, the room's a complete disaster. The super did niot take the garbage out for pickup on Thursday, and it's a true mess that will opnly be worse after the weekend. I'm taking my cell phone back down with me to document it.
