I did a phone interview with John McGlinn when he was coming to Albany with Very Good for May. We had a nice talk about all things theater. I doubt I still have the notes or that I’d be able to read them, but I do remember he was of the opinion that the score to Company would not age. He even predicted that it wouldn’t be performed in 20 years. That was more than 30 years ago.

Lionel Monckton's wonderful musical with Howard Talbot, The Arcadians, had a popular Act Three duet "Charming Weather," which Jerome Kern referenced in a number from Have A Heart and a show title:
It's nice and warm, I think that we shall have a lovely day,
Very very warm for May, eighty in the shade, they say,
Just fancy!

First and foremost, I will always remember the library, or what I knew of it, of McGlinn's scores. And then the news of its disposition, a revelation that shall live in infamy. I am very grateful to have a few treasured things from there.

I wish I had the energy to be outraged about something everyday.

And time to spend on the inner web getting other people to be outraged with me.

You see it is not enough that I am outraged about something - in order to validate my outrage, I have to get as many others outraged as possible and lauding me for being the first to be outraged.

I have made it a goal to get at least one person canceled each week.  That's only 52 people a year.  It's a small price to pay for the permanence of inner web fame.

DR JANE I forgot to tell you I found a nice kitty food....Ashland Variety Pack - tuna, chicken, and liver flavors.  A nice dry cat food.

30 ounces for $2.   That amount usually lasts me over two weeks....about 1/2 cup a day.....and it is visually interesting, different colors and shapes.  So the kitty seems to like it - at least he eats it all every day.

Or something does.

It's too bad I don't live next door to MR BK, I have two nice bar stools without loose screws and he could have his choice.

I used to have three, but I took one over to the big house so I would have a place to sit while folks looked at all the rooms....which was a bit misguided on my part....it seems.

Great name ;)  Where is the company located?  I can't find anything online.

I am glad you found food to make the kitty happy.

All right then, spent the last hour or so cleaning up the garage - I could stand it no more - boxes upon boxes piled up in the middle, couldn't even get to stuff. I thought it would take two or three hours, but it was much easier than I thought and now everything is out of the middle and put where I can get to it.

The sumo mandarins are here! These ugly, but sweet and juicy oranges, only come into season for a brief period every year, and I always look forward to them. They are seedless and very easy to peel.

And they are in stores!
Now!!
At ruinous cost!!!
