At the top of the second act, she accompanied herself on the piano for a few songs, then her music director came back out, and she only sang and didn't play the guitar.

Her last two songs after bows (and the fake end of the show) were "Amazing Grace" with audience sing-along, then "Send in the Clowns."

At 82 years old, her voice certainly wasn't as supple as it was, but she still had the range!

She never sat down, other than when she played the piano, and she didn't have a bottle of water on stage at all.

She did use sheet music and possibly lyric sheets, and she did have to restart a couple of songs because she screwed up the beginnings (and took it al in stride), but she then sang the songs flawlessly, and the audience still loved her.

I received a call at 6:12 a.m. from my cousin Debra informing me that her daddy, my Uncle Rock, had died around 4:30 a.m.

He was the husband of my mom's sister, Doris, who passed away last year the week before Thanksgiving.

He had just turned 89 at the end of January. His last couple of weeks were rather sad as he was mostly bedridden and didn't know who was with him or where his wife was.

It's both a relief and a devastation for my cousins. This time last year, they were marvelling that they were the only people their ages that they knew whose parents were both alive.

I feel sorry for my cousins, and I am sad that he has had no quality of life for the past three or four months, but...I never felt close to him. This simply is what it is.

My sympathies, Ron.

There were three couples with physical limitations who sat up on the mezzanine. Unfortunate, the restrooms in the mezzanine lobby aren't handicapped accessible, but the elevator is fairly close to the seating.
