I've identified two of the Schmidt paintings, which were indeed given to me by the fellow who runs the estate, who's an old friend of mine.  One is from Ballet on Broadway and the other is from the Harold Arlen Revisited LP - not sure it was on the CD but would probably be in the booklet if it wasn't. But the third one, which seems totally familiar to me, I cannot place yet.

They are beautiful. And like you, I haven’t placed the third.

Here is Julie's statement on Tony Walton's passing:

"Tony (Walton) was my dearest and oldest friend. He taught me to see the world with fresh eyes and his talent was simply monumental. I will miss him more than I can say.

We are a huge, blended family and as we hold each other close, we take comfort knowing that he lives on, not only in his children and grandchildren, but in the memories of thousands who cherished his warmth and generosity and the glorious gifts he gave us...gifts of theatre and film, ballet and opera, the graphic arts and illustration.

He was a Titan of the Arts. A doting father and husband...and beloved beyond measure."

Julie Andrews.

Roses are trimmed. Did a little more yard work, at least until the yard waste barrel was full. After they pick it up Monday, I can start that again.

It was nice to see that the mint is coming back. The angel trumpets are, too. I also saw a few fruit on the loquat tree, so maybe the birds and I will have a treat.

While gardening, I was listening to The Kissing Bug, which won the PEN this week. It’s about an insect that makes people ill sort of in the way that Lyme disease works. Scary stuff. Even scarier is the current section I’m in, which takes place in San Antonio, where the insect is known to thrive.

My two AAR trips today were in green taxis, which I'd never ridden before since they cannot pick up passengers below 96th Street. They are roomier than the yellow cabs, and, boy, do I love GPS!

Up again - got another ninety minutes of sleep. Feel yucky but must get ready to be on my way. May have to nap later. Can anyone place the third Schmidt drawing - it looks sooooo familiar.

Whew indeed.  More vibes it does indeed arrive no later than April.

Are you still having latency issues with HHW, DR Jane? I am. After about 2 posts, the site becomes unresponsive and I have to close down the window and start over.

So far today, no.  The day is still young ;)

I don't know how much of my issues are due to the site or our issues with our internet.

A friend posted a nice tribute yesterday to Mr. Tim Considine who passed away on Thursday.

He was a racing enthusiast and came to the Indianapolis 500 many times - and he would always stay with my friend Tom & his family.

Tom brought Tim to a show I was stage managing at the Phoenix Theatre and he introduced us in the lobby.....Tim was not TALL and of course he had the mutton chop sideburns in style at the time.  I certainly would not have recognized him....

We talked for a moment.....and then he said:  "It was great."  And I said: "What?"  And he said:  "Everyone our age always asks me what it was like to kiss Annette Funicello....it was great!"  And we laughed.

Nice man.....Spin & Marty, The Hardy Boys, The Shaggy Dog, My Three Sons, etc etc etc.....

Nice memory.  I read what Stanley Livingston said about Tim.  It feels good when the family members we watched on tv were truly close in real life.

Tony Walton was buried in Sag Harbor today. His stepdaughter, Gen's daughter, posted this photo of the burial.

I understand that Gen is having memory issues and that she will be moving out to Sag Harbor

Beautiful weather here today and I am enjoying it very much!

But it's just a reminder that lawn mower weather is just around the corner.

I saw the first robin in my yard yesterday, so as my Mom would always say - spring is here.
