I had a wonderful night of sleep.

I am about to dress and embark on a trip to Batesburg-Leesville SC to see my chiropractor.

Batesburg is a town.   Leesville is a town.  They are so close together that it was confusing knowing in which town you were in, street to street.

So, they incorporated.

I should have had a much more restful night than I did, but I had too many things going on in the brains department and it just didn't happen.

Nevertheless, I have my first ME day following a show, which is always precious ... even while some of it will be spent later re-setting up my Music Room and getting started on the next show.

I had the phone call, which lasted one hour and forty-five minutes. My friend tends to ramble, but he's never dull.

Back home from my morning excursion.  I was seen immediately by the chiropractor.  He made a minor right hip adjustment and then stimulated nerve junctions along my spine.  It sounds hinky, when I think about it, but I feel so much better afterward.  If the end result is a "good" feeling, then it must be worthwhile.

I stopped at Walmart and indulged my desire for ice cream treats, went to the post office and then came home to put the ice cream in my freezer.

It was lunchtime by then, so I got into my car and drove up the street to the Triangle where I had chicken tenders, rice and gravy and squash casserole.  I washed it all down with unsweetened tea.  The tenders "were" tender and delicious, too.

Now I am ensconced at home.  Don't know what I can get up to as I still need to take care about how I move around, but I will accomplish SOMETHING....I just know it in my heart of hearts, my bone of bones and my soul of souls.  It may simply be a nap.

One piece that helps settle me (though not orchestral, but chamber), is Arvo Pärt's Spiegel im Spiegel (Mirror in Mirror):

That was serene and lovely.

Additional TOD thoughts:

Can't come up with anything that's isn't kind of a cliché. But they are warhorses for a reason.

Aaron Copland's "Appalachian Spring" (either the chamber version or the orchestral suite) and Third Symphony.
Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings."
Howard Hanson's "Mosaics" and also the Second Symphony.

I'm sure that was quite effective and kind of disturbing, DR Jrand71.

I had a nice phone chat with my friend Roberta Staats at the Cole Porter Trust. I don't think I've seen her since THE NEW YORKERS in 2017. When I worked on THE GAY DIVORCE in 1999, she had to put up with me cluttering up the office every day for months.

DR singdaw you don't have to think about this, but I used Spiegel um Spiegal to underscore the penultimate scene in THE BAD SEED.

The mother is giving her bad seed daughter an overdose of sleeping pills, reading her a page of The Five Little Peppers, puts her to bed, and then shoots herself......it was most effective.

And not a doorbell to be heard!

Wow, was the ending to the movie changed?

There's a little package at the mail place, but I may just wait until tomorrow and retrieve it on the way to the theater. Gas is too expensive for any driving that isn't absolutely necessary.

However, the good news about the new motor car is that I've had it for exactly three weeks and still have a little under half a tank of gas left.

Our Costco and BJ's gas pricing is at $3.93, at least of a few hours ago, and the amazing thing is that that's what it was when I was driving home yesterday evening. It had been changing AT LEAST twice per day over the few days prior. And that's just ... you know, that stuff that comes out of a bull?

I've still got a third of a tank, and I'm refusing to refill until I have to, at least a few more days from now. My heavy commuting begins again around the 18th and the week following.

Easier to plan ahead now that you don't have to drive simply to keep the battery charged.
