John G., I hope you will be doing Athens during your visit.  Go to the Plaka!! It's wonderful, and it's at the base of the Acropolis.

When you see food stands and signs that read "Souvlaki", INDULGE.  It's wonderful.

I love Greek food.  In restaurants, make sure you try Tsatsiki, normally served with raw veggies. 

Of course, you probably already know all this, but I'm excited for you.

We got a bit of s**w this morning and more is expected before midnight then temps in the 11 degree range today and tomorrow and then up to the 50's for the Open House for the House That Must Be Sold on Sunday.

I am baking some eye of round thin slices with potatoes and green peppers....decided to bake instead of broil.....since I have plenty of time today.

I am thinking that our papers go to the new tax man today......hopefully DR JEANNE & I will both have a good experience.

I've spent the morning cleaning up the manuscript of Annabelle & Thatch. Fingers crossed, a publisher has asked to see more of it.

The problem is, I should have done that yesterday. Today is too late. We have slobs in this building.

I was intrigued to read that DRJohn G is going to Greece in October.  I am very jealous.

I lived in Greece for six months in the year 1975.  I was actually assigned to Greece to work in the Armed Forces Radio Station at the fomer Hellenikon Air Force Base (which was alongside the international airport south of the city now called Ellenikon Airport).

However, a little incident in Cyprus between the Greeks and Turks...and the non-involvement of NATO (which should have gotten involved per its charter) ticked the Greeks off.  They asked the Navy to remove itself from the port of Elefsis where we had six ships homeported.  My job was to have been at the Air Force-controlled radio station as a representative of the Navy supporting the Navy community.

Ah, well.  I had six wonderful months in Athens, and I took every opportunity to explore the city.  I had an apartment in the community of Voula, also south of the city, but very near the air base where I was to have worked.

You visited some beautiful countries while serving our country.

DR John we planned to go to see the kids in April, however, we had to wait for Bryan's schedule which was done unusually late.  In the last two days prices have sky rocketed and convenient flights are gone.  I hope you didn't have the same problem booking your flight to Greece.

Well, dammit! My accountant won't have my taxes finished for another two weeks. That really pisses me off.
