TOD:

The two Sondheim lyrics compliations.
William Goldman's The Season
Ted Chapin's Everything Was Possible

I'm sure there are many, many others; just can't think of them at the moment.

This iPad is nearly out of juice.

Which is a pity, because I’m perfectly comfortable in this recliner.

Well, I’ve got to get up anyway, for a bathroom break and some more coffee and toast.

Well, I’d better get my ASS up, put the iPad on the charger, have a second breakfast, and then we’ll see what happens.

Back later!

Here's a news flash!

It is COLD outside today.

The temperature is now 48 degrees.  Our "high" for the day is way behind us, and it's going to get icy cold.

Happily, I dressed for cold before I went to the post office.

Heading back to my house, I noticed a pickup truck in the drive of my aunt and uncle's house.  It was my cousin Debra going through things in one of the rooms.  She's determined to clean that house out as soon as possible.  Sadly, she is getting zero help from her two brothers.

I phoned and asked if I could help.  No, she said, but come in and keep me company.  No, I said.  I'd rather go buy you some lunch.  Alas, she has other plans.

So, I decided to take myself out to lunch.  I drove to Edgefield to Park Row No.1. I was the first customer when the door opened at 11 a.m.  My first order of business was to get a piping hot cup of coffee.

For lunch, I ordered a BBQ sandwich with a side of potato saled.  It was very good.

Had a nice drive back home under MOSTLY SUNNY skies (for a blessed change).  The sun is warm inside the car.  It's outside where the winds are gusting up to 45 mph that you get chilled to the bone.

TOD:

Most of my favorite books are about films, including

The MGM Story, the lavish coffee table book highlighting all the great years and movies MGM had in its prime.

And this one:

And I have always loved the Osborne books on the Academy Awards.

The day here started at 43 degrees on the Fahrenheit scale.

It will be down to the mid-teens by late tonight.

From DR Singdaw:

Just checked, Jane. It's a pack of 5 tests; a completely different brand from the last time. The expiration date is listed as Dec 2022.

We've had some problems with the deliveries in MN because apparently if they're left in the cold for very long, it makes them less effective to non-functional. And you don't know how long they've been on a postal truck.

I forgot about your cold weather which is an issue.

Well, this is am interesting take on the Daylight Saving issue:

UW professor says year-round daylight saving time ‘would be like Monday morning every day’

I agree with him, especially regarding students.

DR TCB, I agree with you. I want Putin blown off the face of the earth.

I want the Russians to do to him what the Italians did to Mussolini:  Kill his ass and drag his carcass through the streets.

Don't say that on Facebook or you might be suspended for 30 days.  I am glad Ukrainians are permitted to wish it.

I neglected to mention that we are already in near blizzard conditions. Fun, fun, fun.

So we’ll get what we get, tomorrow it stays super cold, then we’re back in the 50s next week.

DR GEORGE I choreographed a production of MRS BOB CRATCHIT'S WILD RIDE back in 2004.  It is indeed something......

At least that's the title we used.....maybe it is called Binge now.

That's pretty cool, Jrand...and yes, the script that I have does say "Binge" in the title.

DR George - thanks for that DST link. Very interesting stuff. The book referenced in the article sounds interesting.

It does.

That reminded me that I need to charge my tablet for the reading today!

It's up to 40% right now, and even though it won't be fully charged by the time I have to leave, I'm sure that there will be enough of a charge to get through the reading.
