TOD:  I was only in Las Vegas once when a flight from the east coast stopped there for my trek back to the Bay Area.

It was interesting in that airport, with a slice of humanity on parade I had never seen outside of a cheesy movie.

I was bemused, and I was glad when my flight was called for departure.

His email contained two cats. I like them very much, but I wonder how he is with black and white sketching? A&T is not a children's book with big color illustrations.

I am going to enjoy my last day off - unless of course I am NOT cast in OLIVER! which would be okay with me.....then I will have some more days off until CLUE auditions next month.

DR Ginny, David's sister Donna McGehean posted this yesterday on Facebook. Did you see it?
On Sunday April 3rd, my brother David McGehean passed away. Although greatly weakened by emphysema and in general poor health, his passing was sudden. None of us, including David, were thinking on Sunday afternoon that he would be gone by Sunday night. David leaves behind his mother, two sisters, dearly loved nieces, nephews, an aunt, cousins, and many sweet friends.
A formal obituary will be in The Columbus Dispatch this week. A family graveside memorial will occur next month in Richmond, KY where David will be interred with his father Robert McGehean.

Last night I watched a strange film. I sorta liked it. Magic in the Moonlight,  written and directed by Woody Allen. I never would have guessed he was behind it. I selected it because Eileen Atkins had a wonderful role as Colin Firth's aunt. Around 3/4 of the way through it, I thought, OMG, it's Pride and Prejudice all over again! By the end, I was thinking it's My Fair Lady! and qwouldn't Colin Firth be a wonderful Henry Higgins.

I liked the cast and I loved the soundtrack.

So, my boss wants us yo come to our team meeting with our version of “Slept in my Duran Duran t-shirt. Woke up hungry like the wolf.”

My first thought was “slept in my Sunday in the Park with George t-shirt. Woke up and wanted to move on.”

I don’t think they’ll get it.

I remember liking the cast, but have no other memory of the movie.

Right. And of course he would need to read and learn their personalities and all.

Monday morning greetings!  This will be a family-filled week for us.  My sister and her husband will be in town tonight as they near the end of their trek home to Michigan after 4 months in Florida.  Then, late Thursday, Charlotte and her parents will arrive for Easter weekend.

DR Elmore, I didn’t see that on Facebook - thanks for sharing.  One of the things I remember most about David is that he was a very heavy smoker  :'(

TOD - My first visit to Las Vegas was for the 1973 American Library Association annual conference.  I had just finished grad school, looking for a job, and hit the jackpot when I met Virginia Brown.  She was director of the library at Miami University-Middletown, looking for a new public services librarian.  We had coffee, arranged for me to visit Middletown for an interview, and the rest is history.

TOD, cont’d - I would have been perfectly happy never to visit Las Vegas again, but it was an overnight stop for us on the first of our 3 big family driving trips when Rob was growing up.  In 1996 he had a fascination with all things Egyptian, so we stayed at the Luxor and got out of town as fast as we could the next morning.

The painter is power-washing the woodwork around the house.  It may not be too far down the road when all is done.

I wish.

Chiropractor was very helpful.

Now that I'm back home, the ache is back.

I seriously believe that the seat of my car, and the journey home, undoes some of the things he does for me.

This Friday, my church will be doing a 7 p.m. Good Friday service.

Sunday morning at 7, we will have a sunrise service, followed by a breakfast in our social hall.

The next week the revival begins.

Busy, busy, busy.  And I have three doctor's appointments coming up in the next two weeks.

My life is full.
