Well, this is certainly going to be a weekend! This Sunday will be my niece's 38th birthday! For her birthday presents, she wanted to know if I could take her to Tacoma to a glass blowing place so that she could get some new glass pumpkins (which she collects), and also go to a vegan cupcake place and get some cupcakes. I said sure, so I'm taking off half the day from work and we'll take her car to Tacoma (since my new car hasn't arrived yet

) and then I'll go to work for half a day. But then after work tonight...

After Wednesday's Mamma Mia! rehearsal, the woman playing Donna (her real name is Michelle) came up to me and asked if I would like (and would be able) to be a part of Evergreen Playhouse's next One From the Shelf staged reading of Charley's Aunt that she was directing. One actor had to quit at the (almost) last minute and wondered if I could do it. Its only performance is tomorrow night! Well, I said that I could and that I would, so I am.

I'm reading the role Brassett, the butler. I didn't realize that the play is so long! The script is 136 pages! That's a lot of words! Tonight at 6:00 will be the first rehearsal that I'll be at...it is just a staged reading, so scripts will be in hand and no memorization will be needed. I don't know if they've had any other rehearsals. Tomorrow, we'll meet at 5:00 and read through the show before the one and only 7:30 performance.

But before that, my friend David is coming down to Olympia to visit, so that'll be fun. He's not planning to stay all day, so I'll have plenty of time to get to Centralia after he leaves.

Then Sunday, the family is getting together at my sister's house for my niece's birthday. The vegan cupcakes are the dessert.

But now, I must hie myself to bed so that I can be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the drive up to Tacoma and back, and then Centralia and back...that's definitely lots o' driving today!

My only news this morning is bad. I think I may lose the ballet job because they want to pay much less than what I'd like for two hours of music and a large orchestra. On top of that, the recording project may be in jeopardy. I think the gods are out to kill me.
