I think the generation that grew up on videos loves Ishtar. I have noticed a number of people posting praise on rogerebert.com whenever it’s mentioned. I further think Criterion, great fans of May’s work, will release a version eventually.

Does that make it a better film? Some masterpiece? Nope. I certainly enjoyed it more than BK, but only intermittently.

I abhor "Ishtar" with every fiber of my being.

If it is now finding an audience, so be it.  I can just yawn when the topic is broached and concentrate on a hangnail or something.

Another, worse for me, film is "Heaven's Gate".  Some of you may love it.  Even the roller skating sequence left me numb and a bit dumbstruck.  Blech!

My favorite films of Streisand are "Funny Girl", "The Way We Were", "What's Up, Doc?", and "Hello, Dolly!"  Those are "favorites" but do not exclude other wonderful films of hers like "Prince of Tides", "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" and "Yentl".

My favorite Streisand albums are "Barbra Joan Streisand", "Color Me Barbra", "My Name is Barbra (1 and 2)".  I have all her albums and love every one of them for different reasons.  I especially love "For the Record", the pink box with (IIRC) four discs that include never-before-released songs along with some of her best recorded songs.
