Well, you've read the notes, the notes both wondered and wandered, and now it is time for you to post until the wondering and wandering cows come home.

I had a relatively nice sleep  and a couple of nice dreams that I wanted to remember and did not.

My neighbor Ann came by around 4:30, and we hjad a nice visit. Scaredy-cat Thatch has now gotten used to her, so he's no longer in hiding when she appears.

Ann's effort to include Annabelle, who was lounging on the computer table, was not so successful.

I  have some work this morning on the recordig project, which is moving slowly but still floundering like a beached whale most of the time. I need as well to do some printing of that ballet score and a few bills I need to pay.

It is just after 9 a.m., and there is a siren in the distance.  Maybe an ambulance or maybe a police chase?

it is a rare thing in this little town, although observing local behaviors, one might suppose it happened several times a day.

I watched two versions of "Persuasion" last evening.  First up was the version with Sally Hawkins as Ann Elliot, Ruper Penry-Jones as Captain Wentworth and Anthony Head as Ann's foppish father.  This was from 2007 and is a really excellent film.

The second was from 1995 with Amanda Root as Ann Elliot, Ciaran Hinds as Captain Wentworth and Corin Redgrave as Ann's foppish father.

They are both excellent films, with terrific supporting casts and production values, but I believe I prefer the 2007 version.

What shall I do with today?

Around noon-ish, my porch man will return to repair a panel of screen that blew loose in last week's storm.  That should not have happened if it had been done properly.

And I think the 1995 production is truer in tone to the novel, but I'm still waiting for a better, longer miniseries to capture Miss Austen's bittersweet book. I think it's my favorite of her novels.

There is a 2022 version in the offing, but it's not streaming yet.  Possibly it will hit the theaters first.

There definitely is a lot of tone in the 1995 version, especially from Ann's sisters.  I truly mentally bitch-slap both of them throughout the film.
