DR Ron Pulliam, since you liked Persuasion, I wonder if you've seen any of the BBC's productions of Emma? I like the Kate Beckinsale (1996) and Romala Garai-Jonny Lee Miller (2009)productions the best. I'm not very happy with the Gwyneth Paltrow prettified edition; it reminds me of the MGM Laurence Olivier-Greer Garson Pride and Prejudice.

I love the "Emma" film with Romola Garai, Jonny Lee Miller and Rupert Evans, with Michael Gambon as Emma's father.

I have seen the 2020 version with Anya Taylor-Joy, Johnny Flynn and Callum Turner, with Bill Nighy as Emma's father. This is a good version, but the lead actress just doesn't do the role justice. After seeing Garai as Emma, Taylor-Joy seems a bit of joke. I don't believe for a second that either of the principal young male leads would have been captivated by her.

I remember seeing and liking, but not loving, the Paltrow film.

I've not seen the Beckinsale version.

DR Ron, occasionally when I get lab work done I am complimented for being well hydrated. Aside from that nothing has been said to me. I just know to drink water as it makes sense to do so, and from my own research.
