I’ve been up since dawn’s crack. Today is band rehearsal and sitzprobe for one Mr. Rudetsky’s Disaster! in Stamford. It’s scheduled for 10:00 till 2:00, and I must be there early to “load in”, as we say in the biz.

I have to write an email this morning that will most likely end the recording project. It's got to the point where I feel I'm rearranging those proverbial deck chaiers on a famous sinking ship.

I'm rather depressed at this decision, but I think it's the right one. I will then spend the remainder of the day watching TV and lying around with the cats.

Last night we watched the film of Ira Levin's play Deathtrap, which I had never seen as a play or film. I wish now I'd seen the play because I found the last 15 minutes, once Irene Worth showed up, impossible to decipher on a small TV screen. I may try to watch that again on my computer today.

Topic of the Day, Part I: I think the first movie with nudity that I'd seen was The Harrad Experiment. Growing up, we had HBO and I had a little black-and-white TV in my room, and as long as the sound was low enough (no headphone jacks on the TV), I could stay up as late as I wanted and watch what I wanted.

Because of the week's several rains, our neighborhood has erupted into a sea of dandelions. The local news has suggested we leave them alone as long as we can so that bees can do their pollen-gathering. Everything happens so quickly that i fear they will suddenly turn into those little seed pods and blow all over the place possibly tripling the next round.

TOD 1:

Foreign films had a lot of nudity back in the 1970s, so I can’t remember the first film. But the first film with a little bit of everything was 1900. Robert DeNiro, Gerard Depardieu, Dominique Sanda, Donald Sutherland, nudity, graphic sex, sadism, bad accents, violence against animals. I had never seen anything like it back then. Years later, I couldn’t watch it a second time.
