The plot is also interesting: Bigfoot carries a deadly virus with no vaccine. Will the government be able to coax the man who killed Hitler out of retirement to get Bigfoot.

I just had the most delicious Norwegian salmon on a bagel with cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers. I wish now I had ordered two.

Reuben casserole is in the oven. I didn't realize I would be making keto Thousand Island dressing made with sugar-free ketchup. I hope it tastes okay.

Let me know.  I like Thousand Island dressing but don't eat it very often.

After our visit this week with the mother-in-law, today we visited the brother-in-law, the one who just had open heart surgery a few weeks ago. He is home and seems to be recovering very well. But it is still a long process.

I'll mosey on over to Gelson's soon - it's either going to be a lox and bagel day, like elmore, or a tuna pasta salad day, well, two days, since that's enough for two days.

TOD

For me, the most shocking nude scenes are those little surprises you get when you least expect them, especially from the people in front of the camera who you least expect them from. I think someone mentioned one in About Schmidt that certainly qualifies. (I do love that film, though.)

As for favorites, that's a good question. I love Nudie for all the reasons, not just for the nude scenes, but certainly for the way it celebrates the genre it's paying homage to. I have other favorites, and I'm totally blanking on them right now.

And as for the first one(s) seen -- To the best of my recall, I think my first was The Lickerish Quartet (1970), and I don't even remember the nudity or how much of it there was. The reason I even saw it was that I'd just turned 21 while at school in Cleveland, and there was a theater not far from me that showed "exotic" and "foreign" fare, and I decided to treat myself to the act of showing my drivers license and walking into an adult flick. Had I seen anything of the sort prior to that? Maybe some kind of porn, but in those pre-video (and my pre-California) days, I'm not sure how or where I would have been shown any. Someone also mentioned The Harrad Experiment, and I went to that probably expecting something wild and crazy, which I probably didn't get, and also to see Tippi Hedren in something other than the Hitchcock films.

The Disaster! sitzprobe went great, and I look forward to seeing/hearing more of the cast. Having played in a production three years ago, seeing another just a few weeks ago, and now playing in this one, I have to say that this show seems to do very well at attracting a fairly large cast that's perfectly suited to each role. It's almost scary how these indelible characters drawn from the '70s disaster films are living on in these modern day comic interpretations.

As for the venue, it's my first time playing there, and it's a very popular regional theater that people definitely want to work at, both onstage and off, and I'm happy to be involved. But oh my god, the physical space, insofar as the square footage allotted to musicians, and where it's allotted ..... the "pit" is a small platform high above and behind the set, 17 narrow steps up from the stage floor, that I'll simply have to measure next week to accurately report on how tiny it is. We were in a rehearsal room today, and we carried our stuff up afterward and will set it up on Monday evening. There are only six of us, but two are keyboards, plus drums, bass, guitar, and reed doubler, and I can't wait to see the resulting layout. You can probably expect some photographic evidence.

Interesting DR CHAS SMITH - our pit is also upstairs - but it is accessed by stairs backstage and then through the prop loft or stairs from the green room through the costume shop.....but it is indeed not a BIG space.

For OLIVER! we have piano, keyboard, flute/piccolo, trumpet, and percussion.

OMG how could I have forgotten Mr Leonard Whiting's lively backside exposure in R/J?

It was of course perfection as opposed to those I saw in real life in the showers in gym class.....in fact I don't know that I have seen a better one on screen.....or DVD....or even dare I say....in life.
