So last night after work, I was supposed to usher for the South Puget Sound Community College Jazz Band. When I got here, the other ushers were already there. However, NOBODY ELSE WAS! There were NO performers, which meant no performance, no nothing!

When the house manager showed up, he said that he got a notice that he was working that night, but when he checked the actual schedule, no event was actually scheduled! He wasn't able to get a hold of anyone so he said we could leave...which, of course, we did. I've never heard of that happening. $:-\$

So, I went to my friend Margo's and showed her my car. We drive around a bit, and then drove through Arby's so that she could try one of their new (but temporary) hamburgers. I had one last week (I think) and it was pretty good. BUT, they weren't able to sell several items, including the burgers, because (we were told) an employee earlier in the day didn't take some of the food out of the freezer, so they couldn't defrost them to be able to cook and sell them. So Margo will have to go another time. She lives less than a mile from that Arby's.

Well my car didn't make it to rehearsal last night......my AD came and picked me up after the PT overheated.

I left it in a parking lot on the highway with a note.....I called for two service this morning and the text says the truck is on its way.

The garage where it is being towed opens at 7:30 - about 25 minutes from now, so I will drive over and let them know it's coming. The two truck text said at 6:45 a.m. arriving in 90-120 minutes.

So much for a nice Friday off.

Someone last night at rehearsal demanded to know why I didn't put her name on two rehearsal dates that she had definitely put on her audition sheet were conflicts.

I let her rave awhile and then told her to look at what was being rehearsed that night - she isn't called, she is NOT in the songs and scenes being rehearsed those two nights.

Last night’s show was a really odd one in which a whole slew of things went wrong. Fortunately, nothing from yrs truly. But even the MD had a couple of lapses. Mostly it was a major sound effect not happening (same one as before) and then several people going up on lines which makes absolutely no sense. There wasn’t even a VIP in the house to honor with these little tributes!

Tonight, our one sub for this run — the drummer. He’s an excellent one, but he’s never played this show and I know it will be an interesting evening. After tonight, only one more.
