My distain for People aside, I have to give them credit for devoting 4 pages of coverage to the Tony awards. Mostly the fashion and stars, but still.

About 10 minutes ago, Access-a-Ride called me to confirm my pickup. This has never happened before.

Ever.

I'm hoping it's not a scam and that I come home to find an emptied apartment.

And did you know any of them?

Thank you to whichever DR (I am sorry; I don't remember who) posted about the Twin Cities indigenous restaurant that's garnering all the raves. It has made quite the splash!

Looking forward to exploring once the brouhaha dies down a bit.

I'm glad BK talked about Inception. I shall have to rewatch it. I first saw it at a drive-in, of all places, then I bought the Blu-ray and watched it once. But I haven't seen it since that first year, and now and then something reminds me of it. It's been long enough now that I barely remember what or how I thought of the ending. It will be good to revisit this.

Likewise, his Memento, a somewhat more accessible puzzle and also great fun.

For the 100th anniversary, the building is overrun with people. I’m not exactly happy.

Today, Access-a-Ride was in fine fettle, and I am home. When the return driver stopped to let me out, an ass behind him in a truck carried on like mad with his horn, and as the driver started to help me out, this jerk jumped him, yelling at him, What the fuck are you doing? You're driving like a mad man.  Road rage on 82nd Street!

My driver just said, I'm dropping off a patient and ignored him. I was a bit alarmed and I'm happy to be home.

Are they at least wearing masks?

OneRepublic is the headliner. They have a song on the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack. Never heard of them.

From DR TCB:
Quote
Jane, where are you going?  Are you flying?

Not flying fortunately.

We are going to a wedding in San Jose, stopping before and after to see the friends we had to cancel on the when our car door was damaged and we had to return home.

No mail.....I didn't now that....this holiday is not on my desk calendar.

Since Biden signed the bill last June I suspect it didn't make it to calendars.  Hopefully it will be there next year.  Last year USPS stayed open as they didn't have enough notice.

I admit, until last week I didn't realize/remember it was a Federal holiday.

Kind of cool though that the building is 100 years old.

My all-time favorite movie ending is Time After Time, which I first saw in Manhattan in autumn(?) 1979. I loved the film, and the moment Mary Steenburgen climbed into the Time Machine was one of the most romantic and glorious moments I can remember, and now I want to see the film again.

I'd forgotten about that!  I loved that movie!
