And just because...another shot of Adair and Bruce B. singing...both are fantastic singers! Adair used to do one of those PM Magazine shows on Portland's channel 6...I knew her name had sounded familiar to me!

And now Bruce is reading from BENJAMIN KRITZER while Adair's boyfriend Dan is laughing his head off (out of camera range).

It's been a long day (A HOW TO SUCCEED reference) for me, too. I'm headed off to slumberland. Good night, all.

May I just say that these photos of me are horrendous (I'm talking about the now ones).  I am NOT that fat.  I am NOT that fat.  I've been losing.  Those cameras are adding ten more pounds than I've already got on me.  Well, I'm telling you, twelve weeks from now I will weigh twenty to twenty-five pounds less, and then I'll take a break, and then I'll lose an additional ten.

As others have testified, BK is not that fat...what he is, however, is slouching.  That makes it appear that he's 10 pounds heavier! ;D

And tuck your shirt in!!!

When you "hide" the waist, it actually makes your waist "longer" consequently bigger.  When you see a waistline/belt/etc. helps to "divide" the person.  Otherwise, it's just one big mass.

-I'm not saying you're one big mass, BK.   -Just stuff I've been reading in clothing magazines.

Jose I think So-LOL.

Now I have gone to the website I think I can order them.  I say I think because there is something about UPS and an extra charge if they aren't at the bakery.  Where else would the goods be?

How close is it to Chocolate Bar now?

Hate to admit it, but I don't know where Chocolate Bar is located. Lilac is on Hudson and Jane, just a couple of blocks south of 14th Street (at the point where 8th Avenue becomes Hudson). Where is the Chocolate Bar, pray tell??? I may have walked by and not even noticed. Shame on me!

It's midnight, what am I doing up? I needs must go to bed.

Goodnight.

DR Jane - Ah, you found their website!  I was gonna Google for the URL earlier, but it looks like I didn't have to!

I have to play a Noon rehearsal tomorrow downtown.  I should be able to stop by the bakery on the way back.  I'll see what they say is safe for shipping this time of year, and...

I also found out today that they make their own sausages and other German goodies.  I never realized that before - or everytime I went in, I just went straight to the bakery cases.

And, yes, the coffee cakes with marzipan are wonderful.  Actually, Ukrop's in Richmond, makes coffee cakes and individual danishes with marzipan.  Quite yummy.

And their marzipan fruit are very nice too.  Not the small dainty things.  These are practically life-size.  The display in the store is beautiful.

Oh, and they also had marzipan penguins today.  Basically a piece of marzipan shaped like a penguin that is standing on a cookie base.  For the wings and "face" of the penguin, the marzipan is dipped in chocolate so that it drapes like the black parts of a penguin, that tuxedo look.  They looked very cute, and very tasty.

Maybe that applies to some of the canned goods and non-perishable items they sell there also.  They have some hand-decorated candles from Germany, as well mustards, pickles, sour cherries(!), etc.

But he's beveling in that pic.. and straight on to the camera.  Beveling is always done in half-profile, to show the line.

Has anyone been to a Tommy Bahama's clothing store? I went prior to BK's reading yesterday and wow...they make the most beautiful men's shirts I have ever seen in my life...very retro!! But very, very expensive...I am not about to spend $115 for a shirt! No way, no how....well, unless I was rich.

Today is the Winter Solstice, which means it is the shortest day in the year.   For Tomovoz and OzDerek, at least.

For the rest of us, we must languish in our Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.

What a difference a hemisphere makes!

When I was younger, I wanted to change my name to Solstice, so that one day a year I could brag that I was the longest!

Yep!  I went into sticker shock too the first time I looked at a Tommy Bahama shirt.  There's another "tropical" clothing line, Panama something-or-other, that makes the same sort of shirts.  Only more expensive.

Thankfully, there are a bunch of other brands and knocks-offs and store brands that make the same sort of shirts at more reasonable prices.

However, I should point out that a lot of those Tommy Bahama shirts are 100% silk, and silk ain't cheap.

Jose I immediately had to hunt for their website, almond macaroons and a German Bakery, how could I not!  I would love to visit this bakery.  And I would also go straight to the bakery.  I can't believe you passed up the penguin.  I would have tried a fruit marzipan.

Bruce no more talk of marzipan.  Hey at least it won’t tempt you off your diet.  Keith is done connecting the new high definition TiVo so I'm off for the night.
