Last night I watched That Darn Cat!, which I last saw on VHS around forty years ago. I did see it as well on its original release in 1965. It holds up well, and the cast is quite wonderful. Dean Jones, Hayley Mills, and Dortothy Provine are wonderful, but the supporting cast - Neville Brand, Frank Gorshin, Roddy McDowell, William Demarest, and Elsa Lanchester as the harridan from herll - are good. I knew Grayson Hall in the earlty 1980s, since we had a mutual friuend, but I only knew her work from Dark Shadows. She's nicely understated as the kidnapped bank teller.
And to top it off, my beloved Ed Wynn has a funny scene as a nervous jeweler. I fell in love with him in his Texaco television days, and I would kill to see again that broadcast of On Borrowed Time with him as Gramps.
