Last night, I watched "Rosemary's Baby".
It was my umpteenth viewing, but it has been a few years since I last watched it.
I really love this film...the cast, the production design, the music...everything. It truly takes me back to the late 60s, yet seems quite timeless to me.
One of today's Zoom chatters asked me how I felt it holds up. I told him it's just as good today as it was back then. He said he only recently saw it and thought it was quite dated. That meant he thought it seemed like late 60s-early 70s to him. That, I told him, is exactly what it was and will always be for me, too. Then he said he guessed he had seen so many films that followed this one that it seemed "derivative." I assured him it was not that at the time, just as "The Exorcist" was a one-of-a-kind when it was made.
