Topic of the Day: I haven't read a Stephen King novel in probably 20 years, but I do remember really liking his work. The books I can remember reading and enjoying are:

The Stand (I only read the rewrite)
The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger (and maybe part 2)
Thinner
It
Misery (probably my favorite)
The Dark Half
Gerald's Game
Dolores Claiborne
The Green Mile (I think I still have my original individual six paperback volumes)
The Plant

I had an agonizing night, but this morning I had an epiphany: it was the 40-lb carton of kitty litter that I dragged upstairs yesterday. It was the same situation last week that provoked the first round. i think the pulling, tugging, and strain have provoked the pinched discs in my lower back.So, I'll be lying on my heating pasd and reading my mystery for most of the day.

As soon as the pains began last night, I called my HMO and Access-a-Ride to casncel this morning's appointment with the cataract ophthalmologist. I'm not happy about tha since I really want this cataract situation taken care of ASAP.

I have nothing else to report. I stopped reading Stephen King's books about the time I finally read The Stand. I felt his editor wasn't good at controlling his ability to run on and on and on . . . or King was so full of himself that everyone ignored his logorrhea. I'm glad I did not read Carrie first, since I think i';s a good idea but a dud book and that the movie fixed its flaws. Thanks to our DR Ginny, my first book was The Shining, followed by 'Salem's Lot, two masterpieces.

I have my first appointment of the week today.

It's off to Augusta to the VA for physical therapy and a visit to the lab for bloodwork for my Thursday appointment in Aiken.

Sigh.

Still, a visit to CostCo will be made on my way back home.

It's a gorgeous morning here. Temperature is 74 degrees and it's very sunny and clear.

Forecast is for more sun, a high of 92, and possible thunderstorms later on.

The humidity is a balmy 90% right now.

The only books I remember reading are Carrie and The Dhining. I also read his collection of short stories whose name I have forgotten. They had at the time I read them some of the spookiest stories I had ever read.

I just opened windows for the first time in what seems like a couple of weeks. The humidity is OUT OF HERE, there’s a very light breeze, temperatures are back in the 80s, and what a refreshing change. Having said that, it probably won’t last long, but I am loving it.
