There was one just down the street from my grandmother’s house, growing up in Baltimore.
Loved the cones, especially dipped in chocolate.

We have had them other places we live but not here.  I like my soft cones pure.  I used to buy birthday cakes and have them made up with double chocolate chrunchies, YUM.

Oh, our first Carvel's was in the Valley across from a high school.  I forget which one.  The owner had a delicious, not on the regular menu as he said it wasn't Kosher, vanilla with a caramel swirl ice cream.

Watched a very odd documentary, "Strad Style," about a fellow in the middle of the corn fields of Ohio that makes violins. It could be billed as a sequel to "Grey Gardens."

Today is apparently national root beer float day. And also national mustard day. Who decides these things?
