Breakfast: cranberry bagel, toasted with butter, and coffee.

My first ever cranberry bagel, and it was delicious. Just enough flavor, not sweet like a cinnamon-raisin or blueberry (and btw, God even knows what these new hideous looking "rainbow" bagels at my store must taste like).

Definitely getting more of these.

Further on yesterday's conversation about the FLEXATONE:

I researched this once, and my notes are long gone but I learned that many orchestras use the "musical saw" in place of the flexatone in the Khachaturian piano concerto. I recognized that as what I'd first heard when I was introduced to the concerto as a kid. So I pulled out my orchestra score which I hadn't looked at in forever. On the page where that passage begins, a footnote says "whistling sound required". That would describe the saw, which has a sort of theremin-y sound as opposed to the rattle of a flexatone.

I think that when I first read about this, opinion was divided on whether Mr. K. actually named the wrong instrument. Interesting, no? Sounds crazy, no?

We had a couple of dozen folks in to watch last night.

I talked to as many of them beforehand as I could. We started on time. And I received some nice comments from folks.

I also received some comments from folks who I must assume were visiting dignitaries from Broadway - and if I had the TIME and the MONEY I might make the changes that they have suggested.
