I think I forgot to offer ~~~ULTRA-STRENGTH PAIN RELIEF VIBES~~~ for Tom and Tom's thumb. That sounds pretty dire. I'm sorry.

I just went to Facebook and the very first post on my timeline was from critic-author Robert Viagas, whose brother Keith was a very good friend. Keith died this weekend in Sag Harbor, where he had a lovely home right on the Sound, in a drowning accident. It hurts to type this.

I met him when he was in the artistic offices of the NY City Opera. For years I saw every production comped by Keith. In 2001 he helped me prepare materials for McGlinn's Babes in Toyland recording. After he left City Opera, we lost touch for a while, but reconnected on Facebook. He and his partner had given up their New York apartment and moved permanently to Sag Harbor. He was working as a dessert chef in the Hamptons.

I am devastated by his loss.

Wednesday evening greetings!  It’s been a quiet few days around here, mostly staying in to avoid the nasty heat and humidity.  We’re supposed to get a break soon.

DR Elmore, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend.  The New York Post could have reported his death a little more crassly, but they’d have had to work at it.

I've been resting it since last night, but I can't seem to rid myself of this phlegm that's most annoying. Hopefully, when adrenaline kicks in, it will go away.

I thought that once the Orange One was out of office, things would become more sane. But he and his minions still manage to top themselves in depravity, day after day.

I know :(

Family got in late last night. I'm glad I don't have to do anything today. Only what I want to do.

I am glad they made it home safely.

We had a couple of dozen folks in to watch last night.

I talked to as many of them beforehand as I could.  We started on time.  And I received some nice comments from folks.

I also received some comments from folks who I must assume were visiting dignitaries from Broadway - and if I had the TIME and the MONEY I might make the changes that they have suggested.

I am pleased that, except for the dignitaries, it was a good evening.
