In my work, I have access to the OverDrive website, so I can see which titles have a metered license and which are the unlimited one patron/one check-out (purchase) model.

I put together the shelf unit I bought. It's not entirely what I want, so I won't buy more, but it will certainly work. I filled it quickly.

Nearing the end of David McCullough’s The Johnstown Flood. Scary stuff. Have we learned our lessons?

Is the book good or should I just read the short version about the flood?

Don’t read the book. Not one of his best. There’s not a human center. Good research. Plenty of anecdotes.

Most, if not all, books on the libraries' OverDrive sites have samples of the first few pages, so if that's not enough, I can look them up without any problem.  It's a quick and simple process.

It’s a beautiful day here on the island

We went out for a very nice breakfast at the IHOP with excellent and quick service from a new waitress
