Just finished an Italian movie from Italy called Mascarpone. It’s a kind of gay male version of An Unmarried Woman and it ends the same way, with the main character carrying an oversized piece of art, in this case a photo, through busy streets. It has a lot to do with pastries and is sweet.

Jane, I am only a third of the way through the Personal Librarian. I’m liking it, but …

The main character studies Latin, German and French in her spare time, but her English grammar is sloppy and she uses anachronisms here and there.

Belle is understandably drawn to power, but I’m not liking the mentions so far that she’s sexually attracted to her boss. It’s clumsily presented.

But power of all sorts is at work here. Morgan’s power, the power of money, white privilege, male dominance, even white lesbian power over black women, the power of gossip, the power of association.

I just sent a Facebook PM to a name that popped up on FB as someone I might know.  I recognized the name as the daughter of friends of my parents.  So I wrote here.  I have no idea if she will ever see my message.

Today at the show, this woman came up to me and asked if I went to Nisqually Middle School and Timberline High School (I did) and she said that we were friends back then!  I have no memory of her. Well, I just looked through my 8th grade yearbook and there she was!  Now, we're Facebook friends.

Vixmom, I looked at both Google and Bing Maps last night, and I couldn't be sure about this because neither of them has street views where you'd need them, but on the satellite views it looks like that eastbound road from the beach does connect with Cedar Ct. in Kismet, the westernmost community of Fire Island. A street view would tell us if it's blocked off, but I do see a few vehicles on those streets.

I believe the only vehicles are official vehicles belonging to the coast guard, or shore police or rescue vehicles

Vixdad and decided the day was too lovely to spend inside doing chores, so we drove over the bridges to Fire island and walked the boardwalk over to the lighthouse
