I understand why people want their pronouns. But my old-fashioned brain is having a hard time adjusting. Not for any political reason.

Same here, though I don't understand why they expect people to find this easy. 

It's not really that difficult.  You really only have to worry about it if you know that their preferred pronouns are not the usual he or she, and you're talking to them.  Otherwise, it's just business as usual.

Mandarin has no gendered pronouns. My friend Joy always mixes up he and she. It took me 20 years to figure out why.
