I enjoy Mordden’s writing, but he does get some things wrong. And no, there are no copy editors any more.

There wasn’t another single movie I would have bothered with. Not a one.

DR ELMORE that's scary - the fall....  I finally threw away the pair of shoes I was wearing both times I fell this year.  They were a bit large and I think that had something to do with it.

I finished cleaning out the main floor of the garage. It’s hot out there, and I am a puddle of sweat.

I shelved a few boxes of books. But I also got together a couple of boxes for the library.

And I also started listening to a Cormac McCarthy I hadn’t read, Blood Meridian. I don’t like the racism that fuels the characters, but it’s part of the point.

I like to sit on my porch in my rocking chair between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Most days this week a man has been driving his PT CRUISER in front of my house three or four times during that hour.  He has a big sign on the back of his car that reads:  DUMBASS FESTIVAL  FOUR BIG DAYS!!!

I was thinking about going.  I saw September - but I couldn't read the dates....

Today on his third pass by I looked and the sign read:

BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
FOUR BIG DAYS
SEPTEMBER 3-6.

I lost interest in the event.
