I have been reading Broadway Revival by Laura Frankos. It's not the best-written book ever, but it is intriguing.

A person travels back to the 1930s from 2070 and tries to prevent George Gershwin from succumbing to his medical issues. At this point in the story, our protagonist has become a rehearsal pianist to Cole Porter for the original production of Jubilee.

BK, there was something that looked like a nice restaurant on the north side of Wilshire between Robertson and La Cienega. When I lived on Clark Dr. in the late 1970s I could walk to Dolores or the Fine Arts, and I was always struck by its subtle low-lit design. I'm sure I saw its name then, but the place wasn't anything flashy, with no big signage or anything. Does that make any sense at all?

I know what you're talking about because I ate there one New Year's Eve. Ah, yes, Andre's Continental Cuisine - it was great and I remember that dinner very well. It was two to three blocks west of the Fine Arts. The building still seems to be there and is vacant. 8635 Wilshire Blvd.
