This is a beautiful piece, if a bit long. It is about a long out-of-print children's book, The Dark Wood of the Golden Birds, which the author, Margaret Wise Brown (who also wrote Goodnight, Moon), wrote as the great love of her life, female Michael Strange, lay in a coma. The excerpted poetry and illustrations are really lovely.

Back from a nice celebratory dinner at a jernt called Serafina. Very good. Had a Caesar salad and penne a la vodka with some chicken.

The room heat is now working since the temps have been under fifty. It's VERY warm and I like it. It's been raining pretty good.
