I've showered and packed and will shortly be on my way to the airport and then on my way home. Keep sending those most excellent vibes and xylophones for a safe and on-time flight.

But no, I woke up a little after 4 and have been unable to get back to sleep

I do that far too often.

Lazy day. Did walk to the beach. That’s about it.

It sounds like a nice day to me.

My morning started with a 3-way video chat with my sister (in Michigan) and my niece (in Florida).  Laura is staying with Diane until they can get her home utilities reconnected.  She's making progress and is in very good spirits.

Progress is good, and she is very lucky she doesn't have to stay in her home until the utilities are reconnected.

Had a dark chocolate sorbet that tasted like a brownie. And a scoop of lime sorbet that was absolute perfection.

I am not a sorbet fan, still it seems as if it should be refreshing vs tasting like a brownie-lol

The prices are really cheap this trip. The strength of the dollar against the euro is surprising.

Nice

Loretta Lynn has died.

Oh, no. :( I wasn't specifically a fan, but I always enjoyed her songs when I heard them.

Last night I had the most vivid dream I can recall having in I can't even remember when.

In the dream, my father (who died in 2004) took me to dinner at a restaurant and presented me with a check.

For $25 million dollars.

The funny thing is, in the dream, my first thought was: "I've got to contact BK to see if that Sondheim stash is still on offer!"

My mother made a wonder spaghetti sauce with meat from a chef at a local Italian restaurant.  When my parent's had company for dinner they often requested she make her spaghetti.

My favorite Italian desserts are panna cotta, tiramisu (preferably my own, though I am not picky) and zabaglione. Oh, and gelato. Mountains and mountains of gelati and sorbetti.

I will keep in mind that there might exist a fully Dale-notated version. (Sadly, my most recent useful site for finding scores was closed down a few months ago.)

It really is funny, though, the prices these eBay guys come up with.

Here's another:  https://shrtm.nu/LXBE  --  DR Elmore, I'm sure it's no surprise to you, but get a load of the piano reduction credit in this one.

No, he never did that. He worked from a published score if the score were published and annotated it.

If an Italian dessert ends with the letter "i," it is the diminutive and therefore contains no calories.

God, this weather is sucky. It's chilly, it's drizzling ALL DAY here, and I hope BK's flight isn't delayed because of it. I wager he should be taking wing by now.

Wait. Do people say that, or did I make it up?

"Taking wing."  How poetic of me.

Ooops, I missed mentioning desserts.  Gelato by far, second Cannoli.

The best eggplant appetizer was at a different restaurant in Rome where I just might have had the best pasta ever.
