It’s been a busy day of driving around the island.

[John G.]

We stopped at a honey tasting room and restaurant named Melissa, which is apparently Greek for bee. We tasted five honeys from the island. The wild strawberry honey was bitter. The others, including pine and orange blossom honey, were sweet. Thyme honey was the best.

Then we went to the restaurant part and had lukamades, which are like freshly fried donut holes soaked honey and topped with walnuts. Outrageous.

I had a more simple toast with plenty of butter and thyme honey. Delicious.

The winds were still strong, which made the beaches wonderful. One had kite surfers going crazy. I don’t have the upper body strength for that kind of stuff. And I am too old, so it was fun just to watch.

The woman next to me couldn’t hold on to her container of kimchee.
It fell upwards, then landed all over me.

I think at that moment I would have lost the contents of my stomach.

I am not very observant, in general, but I do change my usual schedule.

I think about forgiveness, and how to be a better person in the coming year.

The same here.  Sometimes I go online and watch a bit of a service, or read my father's prayer book.

The worst flight I ever had was one from Ohio to Baltimore......constant turbulence.

I was sitting next to a nice lady who it turns out was a nurse.  She watched me for a few minutes and then handed me to sick bag.....patted my hand and said:  "You'll need this in a minute....it'll be all right."

She was right on both counts.

Sweet.  The first thing I do once I am in my seat is make sure there is a bag, then make sure it is in easy to grab spot.

Yesterday I opened a new bag of peanut butter sandwich cookies.  The outside of the cookie had a nice raised design.....the flat side was against the filling.

Except on half of them in the bag, one of the cookies had the flat side out and the design side against the filling.

I decided it was someone's first day on the cookie machine.

[Jane]

I've never come close to needing the bag on a flight, but I am definitely prone to feeling it when riding in the back seat of a car under certain conditions. Haven't actually, er, lost anything, even then, but still. And don't let's even talk about being on a boat. Especially sailing, just forget it. I did eventually get my sea legs on an extended sailing cruise, but never again.

The one time I went sailing I didn't get sick, or too sick.  We were with my aunt and uncle and my aunt, knowing me, insisted I take a Dramamine.  Keith declined and got sick.

Fun.  Sometimes there are kite surfers at our little beach here.  I am sure it was much prettier to watch where you are.
