DR Jane, I was trapped in an elevator in New York one night for over 2 hours.

I was terrified, fearing that it would plunge all the way down.
Luckily, the Fire Department finally arrived, but it was a very unpleasant experience.

I have had elevators stop for short periods of time and it was scary.  I was also younger and not alone.

I was hoping that we'd have heard from DR elmore3003 by now, but I'd imagine dealing with a computer screen would be difficult at this point.

Went back to watch two early Woody Allen films, Sleeper and Bananas. The former is still pretty funny. The latter, not as much.

There is a steamboat cruise that leave from here and travels the Columbia River.  It too is very pricey.

Wow!  That's a pretty cool paddle boat!

And they go right past us on the river, fun to see.  We sometimes see it in port as it parks near our walk.

We did enjoy the movie.

I'm glad.  I'd hate to recommend something you disliked!

I did go to The Chicken Place to buy my lunch.

It's a good place to get chicken

Have you ever thought of going to The Chicken Place and saying "Got any pork?"     8)

I can say with assured conviction that I have not.

The day has wound down, and I am looking forward to some sleep.

Over the past few months, I have enjoyed some afternoon naps, but I haven't had one in the past several days.

Wow!  Fifteen thousand dollars for a Mississippi cruise of 15 days seems a bit excessive. That's $1,000 a day.  I am certain I could drive all the way up the Mississipi to the boat's stops and find a nice motel and still not spend that much money each day.

I would much rather take my chances with a Danube or Rhine cruise, thanks.
