Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

And speaking of mixed metaphors...    Am I the only one who finds the term chicken-fried steak confusing? What does it have to do with chicken, really?

The short answer is "Chicken-fried steak gets its name because it is prepared in the same manner as traditional fried chicken."

I always thought that it was chicken ;D

When I first moved to Middletown, my boss and her husband gave me a driving tour.  When we passed a restaurant called The Meadows, Mr. Brown said, “You’ll have to find a handsome fellow to take you there.”  Well, I did, of course, but tonight I’m taking HIM there.  It’s an AAUW fundraiser and I bought the tickets at our last meeting.

We haven’t been there since 2011 and they’ve closed and reopened under new ownership since then.

Sweet :)

Why would you do that to a perfectly good steak?

Or maybe it’s done to less-than-perfect steaks.

Good point.

I read GIANT by Edna Ferber for my upcoming book discussion.

A major complaint by the new wife to Texas was they they ruined the steaks frying them.

I adored Red Press. He was a real problem solver and friend to record labels. Worked with him many times.  Haven't seen a peep about his death on Facebook because everyone's busy with Leslie Jordan.

There is such a thing as Chicken Fried Chicken:

Chicken Fried Chicken, sometimes known as Country Fried Chicken, is the ultimate Southern comfort food! Tender, juicy chicken is coated in a perfectly seasoned breading and fried until deliciously crisp!! Served with a smooth and peppery gravy, this outrageous chicken recipe is to die for!

That one is obviously chicken, not that I would eat it with the gravy on top.

And speaking of Oklahoma!, I just happen to have here at work the 1998 Royal National Theatre cast recording, starring Hugh Jackman and Shuler Hensley, who reunited in the debacle known as the 2022 revisal of The Music Man.

In my opinion, this is a perfect production of Oklahoma!

Boy, I have a lot to say about my experience on Saturday, don't I?

My daughter has two friends who saw it too, and both hated it.

Former DR Jose posted a video clip of Red Press telling a story on his FB page. In the background, there is a fellow that looks a bit like our DR elmore3003, but I can't tell if it is him or not.
