In the Unwelcome Trends department...

I've always been annoyed by the inclusion of "My Favorite Things" on Christmas albums.
The newest trend seems to be to include Joni Mitchell's song "River" as well, just because Christmas is mentioned in the first few lines.
The song has nothing to do with Christmas, people!    :)

Several of us would fly to Las Vegas after work whenever he performed there.
Of course, we flew for free as stand-by passengers.

It was Bernadette Peters, still fairly unknown in 1978.

He is a very serious art collector.
I attended an exhibition of his collection in 2001 in Las Vegas.
Very impressive art, including Seurat.
He is nothing in person like he is on stage, very serious and extremely intellectual.
