THE LAYING OF THE CARDS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes laid the cards and heaven knows what the cards felt about it, and now it is time for you to post until the laid cows come home.

So, I see a play called 2:22, I watch a movie called 2:22, and last night we closed out with 222 postings. Eerie.

Many people don't know that in Meredith Willson's first draft, the song was called "Erie, Indiana."

Which is weird, because Erie is in Pennsylvania.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning. It was chilly, the bed was nice and warm, and Annabelle and I were snugly settled in for a long winter's nap. I resent the alarm from 5:45 to 6:15, and then turned it off so we could snuggle as long as we wanted. Thatch and Stella stopped by to check on us, but it was nice to sleep in for a change.

I must try to do the laundry this morning. It all depends if someone beats me to the washers.

I loved last night's food jokes, and I'm happy to see that Dear Lurker Iris lurks no more.

DR Ginny, I'm with DR TCB: what is a vegetable and apple pie? Do I want the recipe for my book Dishes for Your Disposal?

Last night we watched the first three hours of Martin Chuzzlewit again. I usually stay with PBS but I had seen last night's episode of Midsomer Murders too many times in the past couple of years

DR John G. - that article was behind a paywall, but fortunately, I have a subscription. Fascinating!

Today is the birthday of Richard Palmer, my best friend through junior and high school and husband of our DR Ginny. Nine years ago today we had a mini HHW reunion to celebrate Richard's birthday at the late great Artie's.

I remember that evening with great pleasure. If I'm not mistaken, it was my first time meeting DR Ginny and DH Richard in person, and I think DR vixmom as well. I had previously met Ben and Jose. I also brought some pumpkin thing for DR Elmore from Stew Leonard's -- was it their cookies? And finally, that evening was my first time at Artie's, a comfortable and delicious place, the loss of which still burns my ASS.

I'm laying my cards on the table, playing it as it lays, and paying cash on the barrelhead.

I would like to offer my most humble apologies to my fellow northeastern residents.

I bragged about the weather yesterday and now it is cold and rainy

Mea culpa
