Great Balls of Fire has become Small Pebbles of Boredom. The music has stopped, so has my interest.

Poor guy.  Is he still in the rehab center?

He is,  he’s been moved to the Covid ward now and I cannot visit

One is orange flavored, not something I want.

I’ll take that one…I love orange and chocolate

I send an email tonight to a friend back in Connecticut whose husband died some years back. She had given us some of his dress jackets. I told her that we still wear them and that we think of them every time we do. She wrote right back and was delighted.

That’s lovely

Since I only had the sandwich and fries, I'm thinking perhaps some Wor Wonton soup.

DR singdaw I just read a book called The War a companion to the Ken Burns PBS show....and Luverne MN was one of the towns featured in it.....

There were many WWII generals who decided to do things on their own and caused many men to lose their lives just get some glory fro themselves.  I know that this wasn't reported in our history books....but it is much discussed now....including some generals that I thought were heroes.....and turned out not to be.....

Nor much on tv tonight.

I watched the last two episodes of The Way Down on HBO....the 5-part series about Gwen Shamblin Lara and her Remnant Religious Group.....she died in an airplane crash in May, 2021.  Her husband Joe Lara (Tarzan in a tv series) was piloting the plane.

The final NTSB report has not be made....but it seems that he wasn't really skilled enough to be piloting the private jet....and that it was overweight with the luggage on board.  All 7 folks aboard were Remnant officials and were flying to Florida for a MAGA event.

The plane crashed about 18 minutes after taking off diving head first into a lake where the water is about 8 feet deep....

Two and half of the episodes were completed when the crash occurred.....the rest of episode three and two more episodes were produced afterwards.

I can’t remember anything from current TV that I watched this year outside of Abbott Elementary and The Gilded Age, both okay.

I keep seeing ads for the movie about Whitney Houston and the woman playing her looks so OLD.....I remember when Whitney burst on the scene.

She was young and vibrant and a revelation and she couldn't be stopped......I don't think this can be captured in a movie with an actress that is about 15 years too old.....Whitney Houston was too unique and one of a kind to be imitated.

The woman looks like the actress who used to do Whitney on the old Fox show MAD Tv.....and not even that good.

TOD:

Meh!  I haven't seen much of anything, I fear.  Most of the titles up for the Yellow Globs I have read about but not seen.  I barely recognize the names of nominated actors.

On the other hand, I love to watch old movies and love many that, in my opinion, have outlasted/outlustered/outclassed some that won Oscars in their respective years.

Awards, shmawards!

Are those fanciful ones ever made to actually crack nuts, or are they always only decorative?  Just curious.

A co-worker once gave me one that was allegedly functional, along with a bag of nuts to crack.  Would you believe it wouldn't crack a single one of the nuts (walnuts, if I remember correctly)? Ah, well.
