Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Christmas Day, and now it is time for you to post until the post-Christmas cows come home.

My sister manages a gas station, so we used to get scratcher cards in our stockings every year. I don't recall ever winning anything.

Today will be full of birthday celebrations for my DH - The Feast of Stephen that Good King Wenceslas looked out on.

Happy Christmas Day (observed as holiday, that is).

Today, so much will be closed, it's like a Saturday or Sunday.

TOD:  On the few scratches I've had, I think I've won only $15 or so.  The most I ever won on a lottery ticket was $97.

Fortune does not follow me, I'm afraid.  Have had to work for everything.

It's currently 18 degrees.  The high should soar to 44 at some point today.  Tonight will be in the low 20s.

The pond remains frozen over...a thin cover of ice, that is.  Certainly nothing to walk upon by the likes of any of us.  A cousin with whom I have a somewhat contentious (politically) relationship suggested I should go ice skating.

I invited her to "go first".

Happily, that cousin is not a "blood relative".

I posted two articles to my facebook page last week.  One was a story about Sean Hannity confessing to the January 6th committee that he lied about the election fraud claims by Trump. He said he knew the election was legit all along.

The other was about Fox being sued by Dominion over the false claims that the voting machines were compromised.  Fox admitted they had no proof of those claims.

My cousin commented on both threads that "freedom of speech" was being violated by the media in printing those stories.   I had to point out to her, with some sarcasm, that the very idea of free speech was being exercised in printing "truth".

She believes in Fox News reporting very literally. She also considers herself ultra smart and worldly.

She is neither in my experience.  No one reliant upon Fox news could possibly be either, IMO.

All righty then.  I have purged myself of my political rant for the day.

It is time I had a cup of coffee.  I was a slug-a-bed until about 15 minutes ago.

I watched "Glass Onion" for a third time last night. I quite enjoyed it because I picked up on several things I had missed the first two times.

That is a dilemma, DR Ron Pulliam. I find myself not even wanting to interact with people who are Fox Newsers. And that is especially hard if they are a relative. And yet, I don't know how we move past it if we don't interact. So I don't know what the answer is.

I'm enjoying reading what everyone did for Xmas. The weather here has been really weird. On Friday it was 44F and raining. But then later it started snowing a lot. I went to my aunt's for sushi Xmas/Hanukkah lunch on Saturday since my nieces and sister and her husband all love sushi. It was so good. I ended up staying over at my aunt's (due to weather) to have turkey dinner on Sunday.

That sounds really nice, DR Jennifer. Except for the weather part. But a sleepover is always fun.

The temp is 18 degrees.

If we reach the middle 20's, I may go out and try to start the car.
