I asked if she would mind if my friend Margo could go, since Margo and I go to a lot of movies together, and Shelly said yes, and Margo said yes, so we all went to see the new Avatar movie in IMAX 3-D!

We all enjoyed the special effects and the 3-D (and I love the IMAX format)...but we didn't love the story. ::)

I didn't like the first one so I have no interest in the new one. And I have never seen a feature film in IMAX.

I don't like the shape of the IMAX screen - I want WIDE, like Cinerama.

There was a lot to really like about it, but there was a lot of military toxic masculinity that I'm just really tired of in sci-fi.

It's definitely wide, but I've seen a couple of movies in IMAX and then in regular widescreen, and it's cropped for the widescreen, so I feel like I'm missing some visuals.

I think this is worth seeing in IMAX at least.  The 3-D was cool, but not necessary.
