I got the stitches out.

Very good news, John!

I had a blood sugar reading of 148 this morning. Not great, but manageable. I had a nut bar and two mandarin oranges for breakfast.

At the doctor’s office, mire than halfway through the stitches being removed, I told the nurse that I was feeling lightheaded and nauseous. Low blood sugar. I passed out. A juice box helped.

I've baked a snowflake bundt cake, a dozen mini bundt cakes (cupcake size), ten mini zucchini loaves, and a gluten-free chocolate bundt cake so far. At the church I'll bake four dozen chocolate chip cookies and a big mess of Party Mix. I wonder if that's enough for 40 people.

My guess is a good number of them are on diets, so it's probably enough.

Wow.

I’m now in carb overload at an Indian restaurant. Best biryani I have ever had. Loaded with cardamom pods and whole cloves. It’s only a small part of a slew of dishes.

I used to try to accommodate everyone. But the diabetics wanted regular sugar, so I always threw the sugar-free things away. The vegans won't eat anything, so I quite bothering. Now I just make something for the gluten-free crowd; they are always appreciative.

I understand not wanting to eat the sugar-free stuff, but don't understand the vegans not eating something labeled vegan.  Anyone will eat gluten free if it tastes good.

I should probably do a vegetable tray. We got lots of cucumbers in our vegetable box. Maybe just cucumbers and carrots and dip. I really don't want to go into another store.

I now I would be happy with cucumbers and carrots.

I can now get my thumb to close around the index finger. The doctor had to do it for me the first time.

John I looked Robert Lynen.  He seems to have been very brave.  It is a shame he was killed.

I will have to do that. He was an incredible child actor. To know that he died for the right cause is heartbreaking.

I know.

This morning I began reading "The Escape Artist: The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz to Warn the World" by
Jonathan Freedland.  The book begins with the first part of the escape, along with one other prisoner.  I am hooked.

Or you go the Dr. Oz route and have crudités. Then again …

If your spouse is OCD, this bookcase makes a perfect gift. (That's a hard "no" for me...)

It make me motion sick.

Do you take the reading before you eat?  Does your level help you decide what to eat?

I am glad something good came out of your experience.  Will the high carbs not cause your glucose to get too high?

John G., congrats on getting your stitches  removed!

Sorry that you fainted…I have fainted many times, usually in hot weather, and it’s quite unpleasant.

It turns out that two of the men involved in attacking the power stations recently are from Puyallup.
