I always thought that ramps were required in buildings, but my friends in New York have stairs like yours and no ramps.

Parents with strollers and toddlers in tow also have difficulty dealing with them.

Most of my friends will need to move out and find new apartments as soon as the stairs into and out of the lobby become more difficult to navigate.

He had already left me when I discovered I could not handle the stairs today. When he dropped off his packages and was leaving the building, I was halfway up the steps on my knees.
