I remember back in the '90s, a children's summer theater program did Into the Woods, and their only "orchestra" was a single piano accompaniment played on an acoustic piano...not even a keyboard with sound effects! The pianist was my friend Eric who sadly died last year, but he was an incredible pianist and accompanist.
