Thursday afternoon greetings!  We have been to see Richard's surgeon for his 2-week follow-up and she says he doesn't need to see her again (unless there's a problem).

Wonderful news.

Keith's 95 year old uncle fell and is about to have surgery to fix his femur.

I was half an hour early but had only a two-minute wait before they took me, so I was outta there about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment.

Easy peasy. No ink or anything, just the guided pressing the fingers against the glass plate of the scanner device.

And off the prints go to the FBI.

Let's just hope I don't see a fleet of unmarked black SUVs coming up the driveway later, and I open my door to men wearing black shades.

I am home from my peregrinations. Access-a-Ride was great today. The return home driver was actually 40 minutes early, so he had a bit of waiting. He was a very nice. Sadly, my legs aren't working well today, and I had to crawl up the lobby steps.

DR Elmore, I'm so sorry to hear that your lobby steps are such an obstacle.

We already know how much your building management cares about the comfort and welfare of its tenants, and I'm sure that modifications are complicated and costly. But it seems like that's an area that needs to be brought up to date in accessibility, and which might even be feasible in terms of the amount of space there. I dunno, maybe that space isn't as wide as I'm thinking. But I wonder if a call into 311 or to a tenant's advocacy organization is in order.

I stopped at Trader Joe's on the way home for (mostly) indulgent snack type items. Shame on me. I hadn't been in there in a while.

Just ate one of their Cubano "style" wraps which I've always really liked. I heat it in the microwave for about half a minute on each side. This one was especially delicious.

The local college (Western Connecticut State Univ.) is doing R&H's Allegro in late Feb./early March. I've never seen a production, and I'll have to do my homework reading up on it and listening to it. That'll be fun.

I'm going on Sunday, March 5, when Ted Chapin and Andy Hammerstein will be there for a post-show talkback and Q&A.

I have never listened to Allegro, and I've always meant to.

I have never listened to Allegro, and I've always meant to.

It's my least favorite R&H show. I like one song from it: "So Far." You know you're in trouble when the big finale is sung by a ghost and the  bitch wife's adultery is talked about, rather than a major plot point.

I don’t mind sharing my birthday with the groundhog.

We get along quite well.
