AN UNEVENTFUL DAY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were uneventful, and now it is time for you to post until the uneventful cows come home.

I like that movie.  Almost EXACTLY a year ago, I bought the recent Blu-ray. :)

I did not sleep well. Something I ate for dinner really upset my stomach and my sleep.

DR Ron Pulliam, I have already tossed the Gramophone issue, so I can no longer tell you whose recording of Turandot contains the original Alfano finale. I, too, love the Sutherland-Pavarotti recording, as well as the Nilsson and Tebaldi recording on RCA, but I've always wanted to hear the original.

I had to return this tater tot windchime to Amazon. It just didn't make a nice tinkly sound.

The birds seems to enjoy it, however.

The original Turandot ending was recorded in 1989, sung by Josephine Barstow in an album of operatic finales conducted by John Mauceri on Decca released in 1990.

I had forgotten about this: the color-restored version of Evening Primrose.

I had a pretty decent sleep, even if it wasn't long enough (but they never are), following two days of accompanying gigs at (quite ritzy) retirement home communities. It's easy work, but the commuting can be a pain that takes a lot of time. Done for now, so it's back to preparing for some spring musicals.

You can hear Christopher Durang, Meryl Streep, and Sigourney Weaver in the chorus.

I don't believe I ever listened to that Turandot ending. Time to rectify the situation.
