I slept rather well, with two interruptions. The first came at 9:22, not long after I had turned off the lights and dozed for a bit. It was my neighbor Judy, a good lady but she's a complete pain some days. I let the phone ring, and when it stopped, the land line rang and the answering machine picked up. I had to listen to my message and then hers. Yes, it was Judy trying the other line. The reason for the phone call? Did I know one of the lenants in the building

I can't post a photo of a birthday cake for DR Matthew because the HHW upload folder is full.

The second interruption? Manic cats Stella and Thatch around 4am, playing tag, leaping all over my bed and me, and playing in the two Amazon cartons I left on the floor for them to play in.

Tomorrow I must make a trek to East 77th Street, and today I would like to finish No. 3 in the ballet and move on to No. 4.  I will call Joshie at some point and hear how the Dear World orchestra reading went yesterday.

I have also disliked every film of Anna Karenina, because they don’t get Anna.

Because they didn't interpolate the song "We Got Annie."

Vixmom, I'm in agreement re getting the appropriate thing at a restaurant, i.e., steak at a steakhouse. But this thing is so delicious, and so satisfying, and it is indeed steak, that for me it qualifies as an occasional treat.

It is Indeed Steak should indeed be the title of something-or-other.

One could not ask, "What is it, fish?" in that case.
