Thanks Ron, I figured out the one with terrorist ties (see my post above). The Salman Khan seems to be one with Indian Mafia ties....!

I don't care too much for him...and I never trust a guy who shaves their armpits!

Maybe he started tweezing his eyebrows and couldn't stop?
Is that politically incorrect?

CDs will be ready by three at the latest, possibly sooner.  So, we're hoping to get quite a bit shipped today, and the rest shipped tomorrow.

DR ELMORE has kindly refrained from giving his opinion of Miss Annette Funicello's go around at Mary in BABES IN TOYLAND.

I enjoyed the photos yesterday, DRELMORE!

The problem with the Disney film isn't Annette; it's how badly the Disney folk adapted an interesting property and ruined it.  The original show is dark and gothic, with child abuse, murder, and an execution interspersed with vaudeville turns, a lot of dance music and some really bad jokes.  The Laurel & Hardy film abandoned the original plot, cut 90% of the score, and I think it's great.  The Disney film plods from one embarassing nadir to another.  After all the obnoxious and spoiled kiddies I see all over the West Side, I long for a good comedy with a plot about killing children for their inheritance!

Today is Gummi Worm Day.

According to my Futurama calendar, today is also "St. Swithin's Day."  Anyone have a clew as to what that is??  I didn't until I searched Google and found THIS website and THIS site and even THIS site. ;D

Friday -at last.  More rain here today, thanks, DENNIS!

Yes, JRand, 'ol Dennis seems to have parked himself right here in the midwest.  Will he ever leave?  It's thundering now, so I don't know how long I'll be able to stay online.

Friday media report:

CD (car) - L'il Abner OCR, 2 CD's from BeauSoliel

DVD - Connie and Carla, The Harvey Girls

VCR - Nothing

I took today and tomorrow as vacation days.  Tomorrow I'll be in Columbus all day for AAUW, but today has been very relaxing.  Had a nice breakfast at Panera with my Chicago traveling buddy, visited with my mom, did some banking, and have pre-baked 2 pizza crusts for our dinner.  DH & DS will be very surprised to have Mom-made pizza tonight, instead of carry-out.

In my CD player at work:

Porgy and Bess with Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.  After that will by Porgy and Bess with Cleo Laine and Ray Charles and finally, Porgy and Bess with Mel Tormé and cast.  I just received this last recording yesterday from Amazon.com.  It looks like it's the whole show!

After all of those (if I actually get to them all today) will be the new studio cast recording of Bright Lights, Big City with Patrick Wilson.  I've listened to part of it and so far, I like it.

Perhaps you've heard of a little phenomenon called "Lemony Snicket"?   ;D

I am really, really angry.  We just received a form letter from our tax preparer (who has screwed up our last two years' returns, so we had already decided not to return to them)--they experienced a "burglary" (almost a month ago--letter came today) and all client records "may" have been compromised.  As if that weren't bad enough, they sent the letter to Gabe, and in calling Equifax, none of the three big credit places allow you to place a fraud report on a minor.  So now what the f--- am I supposed to do?

Well, maybe we can finally get a dark and funny BABES IN TOYLAND instead of all the kitsch that passes under the title since Max Liebman's version in the 1950s?

I'm sorry to hear what's happened to you, DRJMK.  I'd get an attorney and sue their asses ASAP!

What's happened to Michael Shayne's Bruce Kimmel tribute and my site?

I remember (oh, a Sondheim reference) now... The Paris cast of Les Miserables.  It appears to be totally out of print as even Dress Circle doesn't have it.  I'm on a hunt for it.  I have it on "look out" on eBay and I've been looking around the 'net for it.  Does anyone else have a place they get things like that from?  (besides Footlight)

It's so weird to believe that Les Miserables is available in almost every language except French - unless you want the concept CD.

Hmmm...okay, I think that I may have only seen a clip of Davis doing TETYOTO and thinking it was part of Hollywood Canteen.  I don't believe I ever saw Thank Your Lucky Stars.  Is that one on DVD?

No, neither HOLLYWOOD CANTEEN nor THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS is on DVD, nor would I expect them for a long, long time. Warners has been great issuing some of their classic films, but I don't think there is too much clamor to have either of these films on DVD. Best keep an eye out for them on TCM.

Well off to the salt mines for the final Friday performance of I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT!  8)

Here is a photo showing the cast of four and crew, along with Sandi my assistant and me.  Notice that the guys are much more into the killing than the smiling girls.  In fact the two girls that Bryan the stage manager is strangling is just fulfilling a wish of mine.

I am the fat guy in the green hat - I have lost about 28 pounds, you shoulda seen me before!  :P
