Jen came down in the afternoon to bring me a leftover dinner and their mailbox key. She and her brother flew to Rome last night for two weeks, and Ann will join them next week. I will pick up their mail.

Yesterday, I worked on the ballet for a bit, got caught up in The Secret Garden videos on YouTube and mourned my beloved Rebecca Luker. I met her the first weekend of March, 1986, when she played the Princess in my reconstruction of Jubilee, and it was love at first sight. At a Library of Congress party around 1997 I got terribly drunk and begged her to marry me. She very kindly and sensibly turned me down.
